about

Texas garage psych monster from 1968. ‘Nothing Can Bring Me Down’ has been a cult hit ever since it first started appearing on garage punk compilations and bands like Pussy Galore bashed out their cover versions.
The Twilighters recorded their one and only 45 at a club with the same name as the record label that originally released it: Mark VII. The band had only one original song prepared, the moody, but beautiful garage ballad ‘I Need You’. When the owner told them to record another song for the flipside, front man Jay White wrote ‘Nothing…’ on the spot. A spontaneous moment of genius, the song is a brain-melting fuzzy garage rocker with some first hints of the psychedelic sounds from artist like Jimi Hendrix or Cream, but never loses it’s savage punk edge.
Almost 40 years since it first saw light of day Milkcow Records presents a great sounding official reissue, that comes with a postcard and a sixties styled company-sleeve.
